The exported gifs are too large for twitter...the gifs are 4.5mb, and twitter limit is 3mb...i have tried resizing everything and cannot get gif smaller...how to make gifs useable..

Also, clients says when using gifs on facebook, they do not display properly, but instead shows only first image...

Please give some tips for sucessful usage of the gifs...i have looked at the facebook integration, but not wanting to use the html files, just use gifs in a post....

thanks

Hi,

Just to summarize, the size of the animated GIFs is a combination of three factors: 1) the number of images you import into SpotEditor 2) GIF quality you select on the GIF publish form 3) the output dimensions you select on the Interface tab under General in SpotEditor. GIF format doesn't allow much compression, so the size can't be pushed down further any other way but I think one of these options should allow bringing your GIFs to 3mb.

When you re-publish GIFs in SpotEditor, please try changing the file name under "Save as" on the GIF publish form (Create Animated GIF) as we had a report that the file size didn't change upon republish of GIF animation with lower resolution if it was published using the same file name. You can also just delete the old GIF file before republishing. PS: we will investigate it shortly.

Until about 5 days ago, Facebook was still testing animated GIF for FB pages and only few businesses had access to it (link) - this could be one of the the reasons it didn't work for some of your clients.

On October 19th, we saw third-party announcements that FB rolled out support for all pages but there was still the following requirement:

Remember, though, that Facebook GIFs work only by sharing a link to third-party sources — Giphy or Imgur, for instance. GIF files uploaded to Facebook will appear as static photos.

I hope this helps!

Gif files are static, and show a manual button to rotate frame by frame...do not play in emails, twitter or facebook...file size is 2,998...requires html to play.

How to correct this?

Hi, can you send us your GIF as it doesn't sound right (you can email it to our support email - support at webrotate360 dot com or link it here if you already uploaded it somewhere)?

Here's a test 360 product view GIF we outputted in SpotEditor which should work everywhere where animated GIFs are supported.

Here's also a facebook demo: https://www.facebook.com/360views/posts ... 3398915857

Took some time to get back, but here is GIF output that is small enough for twitter, but doesn't display correctly.

Hi, thanks for the update (beautiful work!).

Yes, as per the post above and this linked quotation, Facebook only supports animated GIFs that are linked from elsewhere:

Remember, though, that Facebook GIFs work only by sharing a link to third-party sources — Giphy or Imgur, for instance. GIF files uploaded to Facebook will appear as static photos.

...so to make our Facebook example GIF work, we had to upload it to our FTP first and then paste its URL into this FB post:
