Invert path on mac

Do you have a schedule for having invert path available on mac - without that it is very difficult to use paths to cut out extraneous background that may appear outside of the subject of interest. I'm not yet a purchaser of webrotate but will be when this feature is fixed.

Thanks

Kurt

Hi Kurt, thanks for contacting us here.

This should be fixed in the next update that is slated for the end of November / first week of December. If you would like to be notified when the Mac issue is resolved, please drop us a line to support at webrotate360 dot com.

Hi, thanks for contacting us here. We tried to fix it but the underlying 3d party framework we currently use on Mac (mono + X11) doesn't support inverted regions that we use in the app, unfortunately. Good news is that we're reworking SpotEditor for Mac right now almost from scratch and path inversion will be fixed as part of this rewrite. Please stay tuned.

Sorry, don't have a solid date yet to announce. It still depends on how simple / difficult it will be to port some of the new 3.5 code that we released recently, which is what we're looking into right now. Once we have a more or less doable release date, will post here.

Hi Kurt, we're still working on the new Mac rewrite which will have this fixed.. and finishing some of the new features for v3.6 at the same time (one being Google Analytics we discussed :) ).

PS: for the folks who will read this before we release the new Mac update with the fix, the Inverse path function can be substituted with two separate path loops on two sides of an image, covering the whole product (see attached screenshot), i.e top and bottom or left and right for example (you can have more than one path loop within the same path). This achieves the same effect as Inverse path and takes just a bit longer.

Hi Vicki, this is not implemented yet unfortunately. The workaround above is the best we have on Mac OS X right now.

The feature is now implemented in v3.6.4 final which was fully revised for macOS, including Catalina support:
